Indian Pharmaceutical Association – Students’ Forum (IPA-SF)

IPA-SF is a national forum for pharmacy students under the Indian Pharmaceutical Association. All facets of the Pharmaceutical world: academia, industry, community hospital pharmacy, regulatory affairs are highlighted by IPA. IPA-SF was formed on August 16, 2008 in Mumbai in the presence of Former president of India, late Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. This body has brought Pharmacy students under one umbrella, where their energies have been synergized towards activities pertaining to the Pharmaceutical world. It enables students to become better future pharmacists while abiding to the highest ethical and professional standards and thus contribute to the overall development of their personality.

Activities of IPA-Students’ Forum are guided by the Chairperson, IPA – Education Division.

Aims and Objectives:

1.   To serve as a platform for all the pharmacy students in India to come together and explore their absolute potential.
2.   To contribute in improving status of Pharmacy profession.
3.   To represent students’ views on pharmacy curriculum.
4  . To contribute towards improving health care in India.
5.   To fuel the potential of recent graduates and young pharmacists, as enthusiastic agents of professional and social change.
6.   To promote leadership amongst members while abiding the highest professional and ethical standards.
7.   To promote social and professional contact amongst young pharmacist fostering intercultural competence and professional development.
8.   To participate in pharmacy policy development in a pro-active way.
9.   To establish, maintain and expand a national and world wide network of Pharmacy students.
10. To give the students an exposure to international pharmacy scenario.

Editorial Board
Editorial board mainly involves the release of magazines called panache and Panache Live annually and bi-monthly respectively. The magazines as articles published to create awareness about the public health issues and community pharmacy, emphasizing the current and future issues of pharmacy for students’, interviewing the reliability of pharmacy and medical profession. We’ve started releasing monthly Newsletter focusing the IPA-SF Student Chapter activities across the country. The editorial board would design the promotional material (pamphlets, posters, leaflets, PPT’s) for campaigning as well.

Student Exchange Committee
Student Exchange Programme holds a major exposure area for pharma fellow mates to add up their experience with diversity of different local/national and international pharmacy education exchange. Student Exchange gives an opportunity for initiation of informative exchange of knowledge practiced in different zones of the world.

We invite all young budding pharmacists to up come and experience this informative exchange program as this will help them add strategies and mold their career in a better way.

Public Health Committee
Public health committee strives to promote the importance of a pharmacist in the society by organizing health campaigns, rallies and awareness programs. These programs target local people about common diseases which are on rise. Blood donation campaigns tops the total drives conducted every year. Further awareness drives are conducted on TB, diabetes, HIV-AIDS, Anti-tobacco and on importance of blood donation. This year we would like to extend our services by creating awareness on cancer detection, treatment.

Working together as a team would lead to a better and healthy society.

Pharmacy Education as a portfolio would include events for advocacy of traditional education, whilst promoting the development of supportive skills in the pharmacy student community.
